Relationships are an important feature of the game. Characters will build relationships based on the tasks that they do together. An icon will appear when characters are doing a task that will improve their relationship

Each character can have only one relationship at a time but they can have multiple friends (for more details you can check the Relationship tab in the Info section)

Each relationship level gives you access to different scenes. For example, for characters that reach Secret Crush status, you will be able to see lingerie scenes.
