New land becomes available upon reaching a certain level. When you reach the required level you will have the option to buy a piece of land using coins (Money). After the purchase, you can either wait for the timer to finish, or to use Kisses to speed up the unlocking process. By unlocking land, you gain access to more land, new characters, and buildings.
